Reusing and recycling Gaylord boxes
Reuse, Match, Recycle
Box Reuse
Grading boxes by condition lets a good used box find a second job. Reusing a box avoids making a new one, and used boxes generally cost less than new.
Match the Grade to the Job
A Grade A box suits a customer who wants clean, minimal wear. A Grade C box can suit storage or one-way use. Matching the grade to the job keeps better boxes in service.
Responsible Recycling
Boxes that are too worn to reuse can be routed to recycling through a partner supplier. Corrugated is widely recycled. Check current regulations for your materials.
Local Requests
We focus on requests from Greater Houston so buyers and sellers can be matched with a supplier in the region. Availability depends on partner suppliers.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does reusing Gaylord boxes help?
Reusing a box avoids making a new one.
Can damaged boxes be recycled?
Corrugated is widely recycled. Ask the supplier about options for damaged boxes.
Does HTX Boxes track waste?
No. If you need records, ask the supplier whether they provide any.
Are plastic liners recyclable?
Plastic liners may need a separate stream from corrugated. Check with the supplier or your local recycler.
What should I do with boxes I no longer need?
Describe them in a sell or recycling request. A partner supplier follows up.
Does a higher grade mean more reuse?
Better condition generally allows more reuse, but handling and storage matter too.
Can I find out where recycled boxes go?
Ask the supplier.
Does delivery distance matter?
Transport distance and how loads are consolidated affect the trip. Ask the supplier about options.
Is reuse always the right choice?
Reused boxes are a good option when their condition suits the load. For heavy or sensitive loads, confirm with the supplier.
